The Tasting Room is a hip and chic restaurant on the south side to enjoy sips and bites. Created and designed by the O’Connell family, it is the perfect venue to enjoy an extensive wine list (by the glass/bottle/wine flight), full bar and innovative menu.
What was their inspiration? The O’Connell family’s best times always seem to be centered around a table of good food and wine. Husband and wife, Dan and Ellen’s love of hospitality and entertaining brought them to open The Wine Shop in 2006 and The Tasting Room restaurant and wine bar in 2019. Their vision, along with the ingenuity of daughters Megan and Dani was to create a restaurant and wine bar that was comfortable for both the wine enthusiast, as well as the novice. A place where they could share their passion for delicious food, great wines and spirits. They hope that you love the finished product!

“Okay, we have found our favorite evening restaurant on Kauai. Really! You would expect excellent wines, of course - and this place has them. You would anticipate that the “bites” would be delicious - and they are. What you don’t expect is the friendly, over-the-top service that you’ll enjoy! These people treat you like “Ohana” - like family, not like visitors to the island. That doesn’t happen at the more well-known places that you might try! And the atmosphere is pure Koloa, with style and grace. I wish I could give them more than five stars! - Yelp”
“Finally a wine bar on the south side of Kauai! The atmosphere and staff are welcoming and very knowledgeable. We got the rotating wine flight which gave us a good variety of different reds and made it easy to pick a glass at the end. The food was delicious. We had the small charcuterie board, edamame hummus, sardines w/chimichurri, lilikoi creme brûlée & my absolute favorite ... the french onion soup! 10 out of 10 recommend! - Google”
“The Tasting Room is a different sort of dining format from traditional fine dining. It starts with a wine bar option and a wonderful assortment of wines courtesy of the adjacent Wine Shop. But it is their menu which is unique. It is all pupus (appetizers), very tasty and carefully prepared. So that you get to enjoy a wide variety of excellent flavors in a single meal. Add in great service a very pleasant atmosphere, comfortable chairs, and prepare to enjoy an excellent dining experience. - Trip Advisor”
